What were your childhood ambitions?
To be a pilot.

I would like to be a professor and teach economics at university.
Who is the industry figure you most admire?
Sven Schneller from Herma because he is an uncomplicated manager.
What would you like to be doing in five years’ time?
The same job in the same company, because the many changes and modifications are making my job so interesting.
What is your favourite event on the OP circuit and why?
The European Office Products Awards dinner, because we won the Reseller of the Year Award twice!
What was your first vehicle?
It was a BMW motorbike.
What is your favourite movie?
Ladykillers with Alec Guinness and Katie Johnson; it’s both serious and very humorous.
Which character from a film or TV series do you think most resembles you?
Jim Lovell in Apollo 13; he controlled the dangerous situation during the rescue of this spaceship.
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
To have a city break, stay in a nice hotel, do some sightseeing and cultural activities and then go to a classical concert.
Do you have any annoying habits?
I check emails on my iPhone when people bore me.
Do you have any interesting or unusual hobbies?
Mountain biking through the desert of Jordan or hiking over the glaciers of Iceland.
If you had to sing at a karaoke next weekend, which song would you choose?
Let it Be by the Beatles because the lyrics are appealing and it’s easy to sing.
What is the best concert you have been to?
Luciano Pavarotti at the Arena di Verona in Italy.
What types of TV programme do you find most entertaining or irritating?
I don’t have a TV at home.
How would you like to be remembered?
As a loving husband and father, and as a fair and successful boss.
What is your ideal night out?
After a big mountain hike with my wife, sitting out the front of a mountain hut, drinking a cold beer and watching the sunset.
