20 January 2006 – Shanghai (CHN): PC shipments rose 19 per cent in Asia, excluding Japan, in Q4 according to data released by IDC.
PC shipments totalled 11.3 million units in Q4, bringing the total to 41.1 million units in total for 2005 according to IDC.
Lenovo, which acquired the PC assets of IBM in 2005, retained its position as regional market leader with a market share of 21.5 per cent compared to last year’s 19.6 per cent.
