21 December 2005 – Framingham (MA): Notebooks will drive the worldwide PC market at a double-digit pace next year according to a new report by IDC.
The market research company said the PC market will grow 10.5 per cent with shipments expected to grow by nearly 15 per cent in Q4. These latest figures follow Q3’s impressive 17 per cent year-on-year growth rate.
Director of IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker Loren Loverde said: "The market may slow in 2006, but persistent growth over the past several years shows the appeal of low-cost and portable systems and the potential for both longer recovery and a higher rate of long-term growth."
