8 December 2004 – Bellwood (IL): Paper Mate, best known for its range of writing instruments, is entering the inkjet printer cartridge market.
The Sanford brand has licensed Legacy Manufacturing to produce the cartridges, which will be available from January.
Rory Leyden, president of Sanford, said: "We know this will shake up the inkjet market. We’re pleased that Legacy is moving forward aggressively with this launch because consumers want a reasonably priced and reliable alternative to expensive inkjet cartridges. That’s exactly what they will get from Paper Mate cartridges."
