3 July 2006 — New York (NY): OfficeMax is eliminating almost all retail mail-in rebate programmes in the face of consumer pressure, reports AP.
‘Max said shoppers would see immediate discounts in product pricing at the cash register. "Customers resoundingly told us they don’t like these things," said Ryan Vero, EVP and chief merchandising officer at the company.
The standard manufacturers’ rebate programmes require a customer to save product receipts, fill out forms and ensure they have submitted all information within a specified time period.
