OfficeMax signs Xerox deal

9 January 2007 — Naperville (IL): OfficeMax has signed a three-year agreement with Xerox to complete the rollout of nearly 3,000 Xerox printers and MFPs across 900 retail stores.

The agreement makes Xerox the primary equipment vendor for OfficeMax ImPress, the new identity for its print and document services operations.

By the end of January, OfficeMax will have upgraded all of its self-serve copiers in OfficeMax ImPress centres to Xerox WorkCentre Pro 245 systems.

OfficeMax is said to have chosen the model because of the recently announced Xerox Extensible Interface Platform, which enables independent software vendors and partners to develop customised programmes for the systems’ display panel, or touch-screen.
