18 April 2006 – Bentonville (AR): Wal-Mart’s new CIO has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
Rollin Ford, Wal-Mart’s new EVP and CIO, strongly endorsed RFID at the biannual CIO summit, hosted by Wal-Mart in Bentonville. Ford said he was unequivocally committed to the research led by his predecessor, Linda Dillman, into the technology.
