16 February 2005 – Helsinki (FIN): Juha Mäkelä has been appointed general counsel of UPM, the company has announced.
Mäkelä, who will take over from Reko Aalto-Setälä on 2 May when he retires, worked previously as senior legal counsel and VP of Kone Corporation.
The general counsel acts as the secretary to UPM’s board of directors and the executive team, and reports to president/CEO Jussi Pesonen.
