12 July 2006 — Basingstoke (UK): Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has appointed Mark Glasspool as Business Unit Manager — Desktop and Server, to drive further growth and support for resellers on core solutions platforms.
In addition, the company has welcomed back Jonathan Kaiser who, after a nine-month spell working for specialist storage vendor, Maxdata, has been appointed to the new role of Business Development Manager for HP Storage. He will be working externally with resellers, helping them to improve their knowledge and build business opportunities around storage solutions.
Glasspool’s appointment has been made to provide additional focus to both reseller and vendor partners looking to drive their PC and server sales in partnership with Computer 2000. In addition, a new business management team has been formed to work under Glasspool and give specific focus to each major vendor partner.
The strategy will ensure resellers are able to understand the specific benefits of each product range and can take full advantage of product promotions and up-sell opportunities.
The creation of Jon Kaiser’s new role is also very significant. It is the first time that Computer 2000 has put dedicated resource in place to focus on high-end opportunities in storage. Previously Kaiser was Product Manager for HP Servers and Storage at Computer 2000.
