7 January 2005 – London (UK): MPA International has published a third edition of its survey on the German office products market.
Similar to other recent western European market studies, The German Office Products Market 2003-2008 focuses on the size and structure of the market in 2003, as well as providing comparative data for 2002 and looking ahead until 2008.
According to the report, the German office products market declined in value terms by 4.4 per cent between 2002 and 2003 to reach €7.916 billion ($10.448 billion) at manufacturers’ selling price.
Restricted demand was largely down to the lacklustre German economy, said the report, but increasing distributor power, own label penetration and manufacturing overcapacity also hit many product sectors. The office furniture sector saw the most dramatic fall, and even EOS fell very slightly.
Details on this report can be obtained from MPA’s web site at www.mpainternational.com.
Surveys on Benelux, Spain, Italy, Austria and Scandinavia will also be published soon, says MPA.
