Momentum with NOPA healthcare solution

17 March 2006 – Alexandria (VA): The National Office Products Alliance (NOPA) is celebrating after S. 1955, the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization and Affordability Act, successfully made its way through a Senate Committee with the help of Senator Mike Enzi .
"This legislation will level the playing field for small businesses by allowing them to band together across state lines through their industry trade association, NOPA, to purchase more affordable health insurance," said Paul Miller, director of government affairs for NOPA. "Unions and large corporations already have access to affordable health care options – small businesses should too!"
A key to any future vote on the matter will be Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who said this week: "This landmark bill will allow small businesses to band together and use their collective purchasing power to ensure affordable health insurance coverage for their employees. I look forward to bringing this legislation to the Senate floor for a vote in the near future."
NOPA said they will continue to "aggressively push this bill and work with the Majority Leader and his staff to ensure this vote happens".
