4 December 2006 — Frankfurt (GER): Messe Frankfurt has recorded preliminary annual sales of more than €400 million ($532.6 million).
Michael von Zitzewitz, chairman of the board, said: "We are the first German trade fair organiser to break the €400 million barrier, and have thus further consolidated our position as the second largest trade fair company in the world."
The company’s foreign business is also performing well with a sales increase of 16 percent to €103 million from €90 million a year earlier. 2006 earnings before tax are expected to reach €40 million.
"We have been able to double our foreign turnover over the past five years," added Zitzewitz.
