23 November 2004 – Sydney (AUS): Esselte has announced plans to merge its existing injection moulding manufacturing factory in Melbourne, Australia, with its distribution centre in Sydney at the end of this year.
The new purpose-built facility will be based in Minto, a suburb west of Sydney, where business will recommence on 4 January 2005 after closure during most of December.
Chris Phillips, managing director of Esselte Australia said: "Currently all our desk accessory products are manufactured in Melbourne, and then shipped 900km to the distribution centre in Sydney. The consolidation of the factory and warehouse will allow our customers to place one order and receive one delivery instead of two orders and two deliveries they currently receive."
