6 February 2007 — Plymouth (UK): Martin Luck has acquired Brewers Business Solutions making it part of the Martin Luck group of companies.

This development is said to strengthen the company’s position with a projected turnover of £15 million ($29.5 million) in 2007, making it the largest independent office supplies dealers in the UK.

John Barnes, who joined the Plymouth-based company in January, will be responsible for sales across the group and be part of the team working to amalgamate the three companies.

Managing director, Martin Luck said: "I see that the developments we have made are key to enable us to compete against all channels and widen our offer to include full print management. I believe the combination of these three successful businesses will enable us to continue our growth."

David Rogers, the previous owner of Brewers said: "The new combined group will be stronger and whilst I will continue to work for the next few years in the print division from our Helston site, Martin will now lead us forward."

According to Luck, the company’s continued investment in IT has been a large factor of its success. Over the past year, £150,000 of new communication and IT software has been installed.

Last summer, the company acquired Benham Office Supplies of Newbury.
