Lyreco has expanded into the Swiss market with the purchase of contract stationer Büro-Fürrer.
Büro-Fürrer, which becomes Lyreco’s 20th international subsidiary, employs 300 people and last year generated sales of CHF 136.2 million ($118.4 million). Marcel Queloz-Fürrer, who has been at the helm for the past 17 years, will remain in the position as managing director for Switzerland.
Commenting on the deal, Lyreco’s CEO Eric Bigeard said: "I warmly welcome our new Swiss colleagues on board, Büro-Fürrer’s employees, and I am sure that we will jointly make another success story in Lyreco’s worldwide development.
"This is a fantastic opportunity reinforcing our European market leader position and worldwide coverage. Operating in Switzerland appears to be a key benefit for international customers who want to be serviced all over the world."
