Lyreco has entered a strategic sales alliance with Russian reseller Pragmatic Express.
Explaining the deal, Lyreco’s CEO Eric Bigeard said: "I am delighted with this partnership. The sales agreement that we have signed is similar to the one we signed with Staples and will allow our international customers to be serviced in Russia on an exclusive basis."
Just three weeks previously, the French manufacturer opened a new subsidiary in South Korea, its 21st globally and fifth in Asia.
With its 48 million inhabitants and a fast growing economy, the company’s managing director for Asia, Anders Kristiansen, has described the region as "a promising market to Lyreco and a good reinforcement of our presence in the region".
Bigeard added: "Lyreco has been investing in Asia for the past eight years and is a true believer in its potential. In an economy where international companies have been looking towards Asia for years, Lyreco becomes evidence."
In Asia, Lyreco now has subsidiaries in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.
