7 October 2004 – Tacoma (WA): Co-owner and VP of Chuckals Office Products, Al Lynden, addressed Capitol Hill last week and called for greater efforts to secure a level playing field for small business in the government market.
Lynden was speaking at a meeting held in connection with the release of Scorecard V, an annual report by Democrats on the house small business committee that shows the federal government missing its small business contracting goal for the fourth year in a row.
Lynden paid tribute to the department of the army for its willingness to embrace small business and urged other government agencies to follow its example.
He said: "The national chains in our industry have convinced many agencies that small office supply companies are not competitive. Nothing could be further from the truth."
