23 February 2005 – Stamford (CT): Jim Lynch, president of Esselte Americas, is to leave on 1 March after 17 years with the company, opi.net has discovered.
He will be replaced by Gary Brooks, who is currently president/CEO of cabling manufacturer Wiremold – also the previous company of Esselte chairman Art Byrne. Prior to that, Brooks co-founded electronics manufacturer Brooks Manufacturing.
Magnus Nicolin, president/CEO of Esselte, said: "This change in leadership comes at a time when the industry is going through a turbulent period with raw material price increases, rapid customer consolidation and private label shift. Gary Brooks fully understands these challenges and brings a track record of success as an entrepreneur/business owner in the office products industry."
Esselte would disclose no further details on Lynch’s departure.
