21 December 2005 – Hong Kong (CHN): Lenovo has named William Amelio as its CEO.
Amelio, a former executive at Dell, replaces Steve Ward who temporarily took the role following Lenovo’s takeover of IBM’s computing business last May.
Lenovo Group’s chairman Yang Yuanqing said: "With our integration of IBM’s PC division on track and our organisational integration complete, we are accelerating our planning for our next phase of growth."
