2 February 2006 – Tokyo (JPN): Konica Minolta Holdings said its Q3 group net profit more than doubled thanks to strong sales of colour copiers and weakness in the yen.

The company said net profit reached ¥17.43 billion ($148.6 million) for the quarter compared to ¥8.27 billion a year earlier.

Group operating profit was up 44 per cent to ¥26.64 billion but the company still predicts a net loss of ¥47 billion for the year.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions also named former EVP for marketing and operations Kenichi Umeda as its new president and CEO for Canada, replacing Don Davis who will stay on the board of directors until 31 March before retiring.
