9 October 2007 — Munich (GER): Katun has entered into an arrangement with Austrian IT provider Dexwet Technology to minimise printing costs and fine dust emissions from laser printers.
In response to last month’s printer health scare, Katun will now sell Dexwet special filters alongside Katun Print Software Solution (PSS) – developed for the company by Docuform to monitor and optimise printing costs.
Wolfgang Schaal-Mulacek, managing director of Dexwet Technology, said: "Dexwet Technology is focused on providing our innovative filters to the global office machines market. Katun is the optimal partner to team up with because of its international distribution network, unique portfolio of high quality products, and ability to deliver exceptional added value.
Karl Cerny, Katun’s senior VP and general manager for EMEA, said: "We’re pleased to offer these revolutionary products to our customers as global distributor for Dexwet filter systems and Katun PSS from Docuform."
A recent report from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) suggested that office printers can damage office workers’ lungs by emitting dangerous levels of toner into the air.
