16 February 2005 – Sofia (BUL): The Bulgarian IT market was valued at BGN 480 million ($319.7 million) in 2004 and is expected to grow by 13 per cent this year, according to an article in Bulgarian newspaper Pari Daily.
The volume of PC supplies last year totaled BGN 185 million and will rise by 20 per cent in 2005, said the report. Desktop computers make up 81.3 per cent of the market, while desktops account for 16.5 per cent.
Bulgaria’s growth potential has been particularly highlighted with recent news that Hewlett-Packard, the country’s PC market leader in 2004, is to launch a new product line of desktops and accessories on the Bulgarian market in March.
