Iron Mountain steps up security following second fire

4 August 2006 — Boston (MA): Iron Mountain, the world’s biggest seller of records management services, has stepped up its London security following a fire at its East London storage facility in Bromley-by-Bow.

In a statement, a company spokesperson said: "We are very interested, as are our customers, in understanding the root cause of the fire…For cautionary reasons, while we are awaiting the outcome of the investigation, Iron Mountain has put additional security assets in place at all of its major sites in the UK and for our smaller sites, we are providing roving patrols."

The London fire came only a day after yet another fire damaged the company’s Ottawa warehouse.
