14 February 2005 – Melbourne (AUS): Officeworks’ managing director Launa Inman has left the OP retailer to take up a similar position with sister company Target.

In a series of senior management changes at Coles Myer companies, Inman, who only assumed the head position at Officeworks in May of last year, will be replaced by Coles Express managing director Joe Barberis.

Commenting on Barberis’ appointment, Coles Myer CEO John Fletcher said: "Joe has considerable leadership experience in fuel and convenience store retailing, both at Shell and within the Coles Myer group.

"Since his appointment as managing director of our newest business, Coles Express, in July 2003, Joe has demonstrated strong leadership skills, which will translate well into the Officeworks brand."

Meanwhile, Fletcher has dismissed speculation that has seen him linked with the top job at Telstra, by committing himself to Coles Myer beyond September 2006, when his current contract expires.
