Independent wins embassy contract

30 July 2007 — Baghdad (IQ): Action Office Supplies, a small minority-owned commercial office supply dealer, has been awarded a US federal government contract to supply office products to the American Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.

Sonny Arora, president and CEO of Action Office Supplies, said: "We are able to stay competitive and increase our market share in the corporate arena through participation in large buying groups such as the TriMega buying group. Because of our buying power we are able to bid on, and successfully win, both state and federal contracts.

"Some people think the larger chains like Office Depot or Staples have cornered the market, however it has always been the independent office supply dealers that consistently deliver what the clients want – competitive pricing, extensive product knowledge and friendly customer service."
