IM chief Foster retires


7 April 2005 – Santa Ana (CA): Kent Foster has retired as chairman and CEO of Ingram Micro (IM) to become non-executive chairman, effective 1 June, the company has announced.

President Gregory Spierkel will replace Foster as CEO, while Kevin Murai – currently president with Spierkel – will gain the additional responsibility of COO.

Joe Wyatt, lead director of IM’s board, said: "The board believes that Kent’s achievements over the last five years have been exemplary and the company is fortunate that he agreed to serve as non-executive chairman.

"By nearly every measure, the company has become stronger and more nimble under Kent’s leadership," he added.
