HP to separate portable device business – WSJ


13 February 2006 – New York (NY): HP is to announce plans to make its hand-held device business a stand-alone entity, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The will separate its portable device business from its notebook computer operations to benefit from the growth of such devices, the journal reported.


The company has also appointed David Rothschild, a former executive at rival Sun Microsystems, to lead the hand-held business, the report said.
