4 November 2005 – Palo Alto (CA): Hewlett-Packard (HP) has announced it has changed its policy for electing members to its board of directors.
Under the policy, any nominee who receives more votes "withheld" than votes "for" his or her election must tender his or her resignation for consideration by the nominating and governance committee of HP’s board of directors.
Following the member’s resignation, the nominating and governance committee of HP’s board will recommend what action the board should take, the company said.
