HP building second Indian plant


4 October 2006 — New Delhi (IND): Hewlett-Packard (HP) is to invest approximately $22 million to build a second Indian computer manufacturing factory outside New Delhi.

The factory which will have the capacity to produce 300,000 units a month will be located in the town of Pantnagar in northern India.


The construction of the new factory, which is expected to begin operations in March, is a reaction to the growing demand for computers in the country.
