Howard Smith Paper has won the contract to supply all Ricoh’s paper supplies across the UK.
Ricoh put up a 16-part criterion for companies looking to gain the contract. "It is important that our supplies reach our clients quickly and perform perfectly for them," said Roger Greenleaf, Ricoh UK’s managing director.
"Therefore our requirements are very testing. Howard Smith Paper demonstrated that it was more than capable of meeting our demands, some of which caused other potential suppliers to pull out of the tender process. Take deliveries as an example, Howard Smith can receive orders up to 6pm and deliver them anywhere in the UK the following day. We were very impressed with its proposals and commitment to achieving our goals."
Ricoh UK has also signed a distribution deal for its laser printers with Computer Connections International (CCI). The deal marks the first time Ricoh has made its printers available to the IT market through distribution. It also marks CCI’s entry into the printer field.
"Working with CCI significantly expands our opportunities among the IT reseller, retail and etailer communities and will complement our existing channel relations," said Paul Cheetham, Ricoh UK’s director of dealer sales.
