2 December 2004 – Glossop (UK): Office Depot has struck a stationery deal worth £7 million ($13.5 million) with Procurement for Housing (PfH), an advisory committee for the UK’s social housing sector.

The committee, which previously held an office supplies contract with Guilbert, chose Depot as its exclusive supplier for the three-year deal, partly as the retailer had offered the committee around a 30 per cent discount.

PfH director Julie Craig stressed that the deal was not made only on financial considerations, however. She said: "Office Depot has been awarded the contract because it meets other important criteria including quality, service levels, delivery, invoicing, environmental issues, health and safety, and equality and diversity."
