15 November 2004 – Muscatine (IO): HNI has named CEO/president Stan Askren as its new chairman.
Askren replaces Jack Michaels, who in announcing his retirement said: "Today’s action completes the leadership succession process, which the HNI board of directors commenced three years ago. Our deliberate succession planning approach has ensured a seamless transition of leadership."
