High hopes for grocers in non-food

23 May 2005 – London (UK): Non-food sales in UK grocers have increased by nearly 60 per cent over the last five years, and this number is expected to rise, according to a new survey by Verdict Research.

UK grocers generated non-food sales of £13.5 billion ($24.7 billion) in 2004, says the report, and are expected to sell more non-food than department stores by 2006.
