13 August 2007 — Washington (DC): The US General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded federal office supply contracts to 11 independent dealers.
The GSA has awarded Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) to 11 small and two large businesses, as part of the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI).
Administrator Lurita Doan said: "These awards not only enable the federal government to realise significant savings but also provide opportunities for small business to be full participants in the federal procurement world.
"Under the BPAs, companies will use their best commercial practices to provide further cost reductions and are required to submit management and detailed transaction reports."
The following contractors will compete for federal office supplies sales over a one-year period, with two options to renew: Metro Office Products, Adams Marketing, George W Allen, Corporate Express, Veterans Imaging Products, Future Solutions, Stephens Office Supply, Staples, Impac Office Supplies, SITA Business Systems, is.group, Imaging Systems and Miller’s Office Products.
Federal office supplies sales totalled $322 million in 2006.
