Gould acquires Southern Paper

10 October 2006 — New York (NY): Gould Paper has acquired the Miami-based, privately held paper merchant Southern Paper.

 

Gould will merge its existing operation into Southern Paper’s 25,000 sq ft warehouse.

 

Miguel Franquiz will serve as president of the combined operation that will trade under Southern Paper.

 

Gould’s chairman and president Harry Gould said: "Miami is a very dynamic and fast growing market that dictates a full service platform. With the acquisition of Southern Paper and its fine staff, Gould is now positioned for solid growth."
