4 November 2004 – New York (NY): Worldwide software revenue is expected to rise 6 per cent to $189 billion in 2004, after a 5.1 per cent increase to $178 billion in 2003, according to analyst group IDC.
More than one third of last year’s revenue came from five companies, said the group, reflecting the growing concentration of industry sales. These companies were Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP and Computer Associates.
