Georgia Pacific earnings down

 

28 July 2005 – Atlanta (GA): Georgia Pacific has reported a Q2 net income of $194 million, or EPS of $0.73, compared to $220 million, or EPS of $0.84, a year earlier.

 

The company also posted a reduction in net sales to $4.8 billion from $5.2 billion in Q2 2004.

 

CEO Pete Correll said: "During the most recent quarter, raw materials and energy inflation increased our operating costs companywide by approximately $105 million compared with the second quarter in 2004…In spite of these factors, we remain on track to achieve significant cost improvements and reach our North America consumer products operating profit goal by the end of 2006."
