GBC makes modest Q3 gain


21 October 2004 – Northbrook (IL): General Binding Corporation (GBC) has reported a small rise in its Q3 earnings.

On flat sales of $175.8 million, the company posted earnings of $5.2 million, or EPS of $0.31, compared to $4.9 million, or EPS of $0.30, registered 12 months earlier.

Chairman and president/CEO Dennis Martin said: "In spite of the challenging market conditions, we modestly improved earnings in the third quarter compared to last year. In addition, our focus on generating cash flow enabled us to reduce net debt by more than $21 million during the quarter."
