Fujitsu Siemens pre-tax profit plummets

16 October 2006 — Frankfurt (GER): Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced that pre-tax profit for the first half of its fiscal year plummeted to €4 million ($5 million), compared to €27 million a year earlier.

The company attributes the fall to restructuring charges associated with the acquisition of a PC maintenance division, along with a decline in the average selling price.

From April to September the company reported revenue of €3.1 billion but failed to disclose a comparative figure for the year-ago period.
