17 December 2004 – Chicago (IL): Former EVP of Office Depot, Doug Ramsdale, has been appointed CEO of Home Products International (HPI), as the company installs a new management team.
Rich Hassert, from consumer products company Digital Innovations, has been given the role of chief operating officer.
Ramsdale, who worked most recently for gardening products supplier LR Nelson Corporation, said: "We are committed to growing our existing business by enhancing our product line, expanding into new channels and categories, and providing our customers with high quality products and outstanding service."
He also emphasised plans to develop HPI in the OP space. "We have great ambition to expand our customer base into other channels, notably the OP channel where we currently have only a small foothold," he said.
