Forbes named president of Ingram Micro EMEA


31 August 2007 — Santa Ana (CA): Ingram Micro (IM) has named selected Jay A Forbes as EVP and president-designate, EMEA effective 3 September, 2007.


Forbes will replace Hans Koppen, who will retire as of 31 December, 2007, and will report to Alain Monie, president and COO of the technology giant.


Forbes’ professional experience includes top-executive posts for some of the leading corporations in Canada. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Aliant, an Atlantic-Canadian telecommunications and information technology company generating revenues of approximately $2 billion.


Koppen joined IM in January 1998 as president of the company’s Latin American region. He led expansions into new markets, developing the Latin American operations into the region’s leading technology distributor. In March 2000, he became president of IM Asia-Pacific, where he built a foundation for growth in emerging markets such as India and China. He was promoted to his current role as president of IM Europe, now EMEA, in March 2004.


Forbes, 46, will be located at IM’s EMEA headquarters near Brussels, Belgium.
