2 December 2004 – Memphis (TN): FedEx Kinko’s has increased the content of recycled paper at its 1,000 US outlets from 10 per cent to up to 30 per cent, in attempt to align the company with more environmental ideals.

The move, which uses a new private-labelled product produced by International Paper, will conserve an estimated 18,850 tons of wood per year, enough to make copy paper for 402,450 people, according to calculations by Environmental Defense.

VP of global sourcing for FedEx Kinko’s Steve Grupe said: "This achievement serves as a shining example of how establishing progressive purchasing policies and working closely with key suppliers enables a company like FedEx Kinko’s to pursue a more sustainable future."
