25 August 2006 — Hong Kong (CHN): Lenovo Group is to streamline its customer service operations through the creation of the Singapore-based Lenovo Services business unit.
The group has also set up its Centre of Excellence to focus on supply and demand forecasting, price setting and the development of sales and product strategies, which is also to be based in Singapore.
Lenovo has appointed another two former Dell employees to head up its new divisions. Former Dell VP for Asia Pacific and Japan, Christopher Askew has been named as VP and will take charge of Lenovo Services. David Schmook, former VP of marketing at Dell, will take responsibility for the Centre of Excellence.
Earlier this month, Lenovo appointed former Dell executives, David Miller and Sotaro Amano, to serve as SVP/president of Asia Pacific and president of Lenovo Japan.
