28 October 2004 – Stamford (CT): Esselte has opened a Far East sourcing centre in Shenzhen, China, in order to centralise the sourcing of materials and better manage its local supply base.
The sourcing centre, which will be led by VP of Far East sourcing Dennis Tow, will support the company’s divisions in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Kjell Clefjord, president and CEO of Esselte Europe and the executive responsible for Esselte’s sourcing activities said: "We are continually finding ways to service Esselte’s global operations at a lower cost with increased reliability and faster services. We continually work with our strategic suppliers to improve their efficiency, and flexibility, so that we can react to market demand faster."
