4 November 2004 – St Paul (MN): Display mounting products manufacturers Ergotron and Constant Force Technology (CFT) are to merge under the Ergotron name. The merger is expected to be completed by 1 January 2005.
Both companies were founded by Ergotron’s chairman Harry Sweere; Ergotron in 1982 and CFT in 2000. The newly merged company will heavily target the retail and consumer market.
Sweere, who will stay on as chairman, said: "I sincerely believe that combining the technology and the people talents that exist in both of these great companies will result in tremendous opportunities – in addition to providing increased economic benefits to all of our shareholders."
The current president of CFT Joel Hazzard will become president of the new company.
