John Clare has told Dixons Group’s AGM that the company is set for an encouraging year and that its troubled Dixons chain is showing signs of life.
In a trading update, Clare revealed that total group sales for the 18 weeks to 4 September are eight per cent up year-on-year with UK sales growing nine per cent and international sales up 13 per cent with the firm’s PC World chain performing strongly.
Clare added that the Dixons chain is "showing some encouraging signs of recovery".
He added: "While it is too early to extrapolate these trends for the balance of the year, the group is well placed for a year of progress."
