6 September 2006 — London (UK): DHL Logistics has secured a contract with the UK Department of Health worth £1.6 billion in revenue over ten years.
DHL will run a division called NHS Supply Chain, on behalf of NHS Business Services Authority, and be responsible for delivering all procurement and logistics services.
NHS Supply Chain will manage a wide range of products, including office equipment and stationery.
The company will open a new 250,000 sq ft UK-based DHL distribution centre in 2008 that is expected to create 1,000 new jobs.
