Depot recalls shock hazard lamps

16 November 2006 — Washington (DC): Lamps sold at Office Depot, between May and October, have been declared a shock hazard by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and are being recalled.

Four incidents have been reported where by customers have received minor electrical shocks caused by an improperly aligned fibre glass sheath which is meant to protect the electrical cord.

 

Approximately 6,800 Taylor lamps, burnished nickel metal desk lamps made by Environmental Lighting Concepts, are being recalled.
