12 September 2007 — Delray Beach (FL): Office Depot is working with Where2GetIt, a provider of web- and mobile-based locator technology, to enable customers to easily find their nearest store.
The Mobile Browser is specifically designed for smaller mobile screens to allow for quick access to store location information. After logging onto www.officedepot.com on a internet-enabled mobile device, users simply enter their zip code or city and state to find nearby stores. Depot customers can also click the phone number in the "location results" area to be directly connected to the nearest Depot store from their mobile phone.
Noah Maffitt, Depot’s director of eCommerce, said: "With the Where2GetIt mobile technology, customers can conveniently use mobile devices to find Office Depot locations in a matter of minutes – even when they are away from the home or office."
Two weeks ago, news emerged of Depot’s partnership with mobile media company go2 for its first national mobile marketing programme.
