Date set for revamped OPI conference

20 September 2007 — London (UK): The dates have been announced for a refreshed and reformatted OPI European conference next summer.

The three-day event will take place between Wednesday 7 and Friday 9 May 2008 in Italy. The conference has been moved to May to avoid the very crowded June period, compounded next year by the UEFA Euro 2008 football tournament which is also being held in June.

The new dates should enable more delegates to attend and, with a Friday lunch-time finish, delegates can either get home in time for the weekend or stay on at the resort and enjoy the facilities.

As it is the tenth anniversary event, OPI is currently working on a completely revised format and programme. OPI director Janet Bell said: "With this event now almost 10 years old, it is time to rip up the old model and ensure we really address the challenges office products executives are facing today. There is no other Europe-wide event for senior executives and it is essential that we make this a really good use of their time. Delegates at next year’s event will see a much more even split of vendors and resellers, at senior levels, as well as a highly-targetted speaker programme devised following an extensive research study that is currently being conducted."
